Into Melbourne city today where Melvyn kindly gave me a guided tour including:
A visit to the art gallery....very cool.
Sampling cafe society....stopped to read the Sunday papers, latte with blueberry bagel and cream cheese.
A visit to the botanic gardens and a look at the black swans.
Then late afternoon we had a couple of cold beers in the sun at the vibrant Fitzroy area.
Finally my opportunity to see my first outdoor film. We went along to the open air cinema which shows each Sunday night at the botanic gardens to see the old classic 'Whitnail and I'. Very atmospheric it was as dusk sets in and all the fruit bats appear overhead. Everyone takes along their own picnic and refreshments to sit out on the grass bank....a great idea.
