Day 11 Flagstaff

Flagstaff has a railroad right through the centre of it. Let that statement percolate in your mind a while. Ok ready......all percolated are we....

........Heeeeeeeaaaaawwww....... Heeeeeeeeeawwww........Heeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaww go the trains all night. I suspected the budget motel was infact a US government sleep deprivation centre. Anyhow off for the complimentary breakfast and to marvell at how small the "mini bagels" were. Think Tunnocks tea cakes but all the more delicious after last nights Halloween experience.

A quick bit of TV with Heather Mills slating Paul Mcartney live on NBC spurred me on to more pressing matters. Off to the library on the understanding they provide free access here in the US. Not so ...thirty minutes is your lot before they look for hard cash. After 90 minutes of torture in which carrier pigeon would provide faster communication I decided it would be easier to have my own means of digital communication and found just the wi;fi enabled gizmo in a stationary store called "Staples". See what they have done there.
Wandered the streets of Flagstaff. Very nice it too. Sort of "Northern Exposure" esque with outdoor shops, biking and arts places. Oh and resteraunts and coffee houses abound.

Checked into the hostel narrowly body swerving the dorm when one of its occupants. An elderly gentleman with whiskers appeared to be foaming slightly at the mouth. Treating myself to a room I spent the evening kicking back at the hostel and resolved to meet the great outdoors head on tomorrow. Well provided the great outdoors gets up on time!
