Day 47 Pahia to Huhora Heads (More Rain)

Its now been days of 24 hour rain in a landscape identical to Scotland. Why did I come here again? Well the plan today was to keep heading North and maybe outrun the weather. At this point I was unaware of the cyclone that had hit Fiji and thrown this freak weather onto the Northlands of New Zealand. Doh ! Thirty minutes of euphoria did arise mid afternoon as the sun broke though at Coopers Bay.

Feeling every passing ray of sunshine lift my mood and convinced heading North had been a good move I opted for a visit to Mangonui where the Lonely Planet must see is to try their famous fish and chips. Its true they batter and cook the fish right in front of you ad it did taste great. ........Then it started raining again.

Pitched tent at Houhora Heads campsite and wonderd would it survive another night?
