Day 69 Gisborne (Beach and Film)

Down to the surf in the morning and then helped Sharon get the "Big Shop" in preparation for new year. It was good fun choosing the wines now I consider myself slightly more informed from last weeks wine tasting. As soon as that was done we went back to the beach again where I joined in with everyone else swimming the waves. If you get enough speed on your front crawl before the wave hits it will surf you a fair distance.
In the evening after a delicious prawn curry from Sharon we settled in with our wine and enjoyed the film starring Martin Clunes called "The Man Who Lost His Head" where Clunes as a museum curator is sent on a rubber stamp excercise to a Maori community in New Zealand to say they cannot hav the return of an head carving from UK. He falls in love with the country and a local Maori schoolteacher. It had lots of local jokes and references in it I'd have missed were it not for the time I've spent here.
