I'd stopped off in Nelson on the way to buy a swimming instruction book before too many habits set in to my new world in the water. I spent the evening somewhere between the beach reading a few pages of the book and then into the sea to try it out. It's all in the hips not the arms would appear to be the key and you have to make yourself slippery like a fish and ong like a boat. I really hope this author knows what he is talking about.
Before bedtime I chatted to my neighbours on the site Steve and Sarah. Steve was from Liverpool (a city with amongst the frendliest people on earth) and his car numberplate proudly read "Scousa". Steve has trained on the Jonah course which teaches people how to rescue beached whales and its safe to say Steve and Sarah are wildlife daft. Hence their trip to Able Tasman with its crystal clear sea waters and protected marine reserve.
