Up early to catch the blue penguins at Omarou but the lady at the visitor centre explained they are nocturnal except for one pictured above. How lucky was I ?
This sign looks amusing at first glance but incredibly the penguins do cross the road from the beach to get to their huts. Yes the do have apartments to stay in.
Never mind I took myself away to Omarou's public gardens who claim they are the best in New Zealand. I agree Omarou. Keep up the hard work.
Then a quick stop at Moeraki boulders. Spherical shaped stones formed with crytal and held in regard by the Maori.
Its all about the drving though as I head for Queenstown. Pitched the tentat Alexandra as night was closing in and will have a day off the road tomorrow, tidy the car (wow it needs tidied)
