A restful day today so I thought I'd welcome you to my home. Come on in and watch you dont step on the cat. Kiwis take do sometimes their cats with them camping! I'm sure Tinkerbell or Fluffy quite enjoy it. Infact for generations families come to the same campsite with the same neighbours year after year and take everything with them. Its a great atmosphere.

This is the living quarters. Which comprises a thermarest (a miracle lightweight self inflating roll) and as you will see its very narrow. My two sleeping bags one inside the other as the first one I bought was not warm enough. Finally my nightpac comprising book, journal, headlight torch, earplugs .and eye mask. The last two items are a must as many a website informed me before I left. The earplugs drown out spooky sounds, noisy campsites and hostel dorm snorers. The eye mask stops the dawn light arriving in your tent.

Here is my larder, pans and cutlery which goes to the camp kitchen everyday. There is now a new edition to this part of my home. My first ever thermos flask which I'm excited about. Brings a touch of luxury savouring my tea at the peace of my tent.

The washing line.

My toy car which runs on air. She is a wee beauty though in her own special way.
Thank you for popping in. Sorry about the washing but it dries within an hour.

(Picture "What did I do with that stick?")
So after doing the washing this morning I drove out to watch the paragliders soar up the mountains. Then onto a secret spot at the lake tipped off to me by some locals I'd met mountain biking the other day. A lazy afternoon with the first newspaper of my trip and plenty swimming. I was a bit put out by a number of the dogs on the beach who were excellant swimmers. Some impressive doggy paddles going on and they swam way out to the rock with their owners.
