Now today was not all about eating cakes but I did try a few. The food courts in Singapore are vast and so inexpensive you could end up eating a lot of cakes!
Daniele from Germany and davie from Ireland who had been in my company last night were going to the newly opened biggest Ferris wheel (think London Eye) in the world this morning and kindly asked me along.......So did you hear the one about the Scotman, Germanwoman and Irishman who went to see the wheel.....took a stop too early on the underground didnt' they!
It was well worth it though. The wheel takes half an hour to go around.
As we walked along I noticed the air guitar championships are here in the summer. Never tried the air guitar myself (not that I'm admitting to anyway) but its clearly popular here.
In the evening I went along to the Singapore Zoo night safari (thanks for the tip John). Now whatever your feelings are on Zoos I beleive Singapore have got it as good as it can. Plenty natural habitat and its hard as you walk past to see any fences as there are none! Between you and the animals is simply a walled moat which you cannot see. They have managed to breed a number of the animals which are close to extinction which is a credit to the conditions they are kept in. I've no pics except this rhino as falsh photography not allowed. I enjotyed the spotted hyenas enclosure where I discovered they are hunters not scavengers. They were also having a right old barny over (its my piece of dead gazelle not yours).
Tomorrow I fly to Thailand and start off in diving and beach mecca Phuket....
