Day 159 Kota Kinabalu (Mount Kinabalu)

Cornelius kept us back till three am ...the wise local guide he was. Its literally freezing up there and as we made our way up the last 1000 metres each step got harder with the thinning air. Sleepy and exhausted we made it and could now wait for sunrise.

Now it was a case of what goes up must come down. Tanya a keen footballer back in Denmark led the way at a fine pace and we were first back of the hill but it all came into perspective with the following sight.....
Every day fresh supplies and the occasional replacement washing machine are brought up to the mountain camp by the only way possible....the backs of some incredible people.

Finally our guide poured us out of the minibus at the hostel and after hitting the shower we joined Tanyas friends Rebecca, Kevin and Sarah for a curry before the aches and pains kicked in.
