Day 161 Beaufort (White Water Rafting)
It takes an hour and a half to reach Beaufort train station and a further two hours by this poor old train to reach 'Padas' river for todays white water rafting. I'd be joined by lovely couple Ollie and Sarah who were here on holiday. There was no room on the train carriage and we had to sit out on the flatbed trailer in amongst bags of rice, people, eggs etc. Still it was nice and cool although I'm sure the holiday insurance would have not covered it.
All in all the day took over twelve hours with about an hour rafting. How I hear you ask..well the train broke down a couple of times. Still we were in no rush and over here in Borneo they call it "rubber time"...it stretches! Tomorrow I fly to Tawau in search of Sipidan island, one of the world's top dives (as in scuba diving rather than the derogatory sense)
