This morning I had a chance to wander around tiny Mabul island which has a local community on it as well as the dive centre. Here are some of the ways to spend time ....
Volleyball.
Messing about in the water.
Gardening.
Fishing for tea.
Then in the afternoon with the tide high enough a spot of snorkelling before catching the boat back to the mainland. Who should I meet at the jetty than none other than Tanya my recent hiking partner from Kinabalu who had come out to Mabul to try an introductory dive. Small world!
Finally back on dry land Chock drove me to the airport and we checked our watches to ensure my flight was outwith the 24 hours from my last dive. It was and I flew back to the hostel in Kota Kinabalu ready for tomorrows journey to Brunei. The home of my cousin Ian and his family. All set for a good Mackay welcome!
